The United World Colleges were created to promote international understanding through education, service and social responsibility. These scholarships were named in honour of the late Dr. J.W. Grant MacEwan and administered by the Alberta Scholarship Programs. The scholarships reward Alberta's best Grade 11 students with a chance to complete their high school at one of the twelve United World Colleges located throughout the world. Value of the award is tuition, room and board, and one return trip home per year. The scholarship covers both years of the program. Applicants must be Alberta residents and be between the ages of 16 and 17 and a half. Applicants are normally in the process of completing Grade 11. Please see Mrs. Flexhaug for an application. |
