About the KAHS Library

Welcome to the Kate Andrews Library

The Kate Andrews library is a warm and welcoming space to come and spend some time.  Students are invited to use this multi-functional space for working on school assignments, hanging with friends or relaxing with a good book.  The library has 10 computers for students to use when doing research or simply killing some spare time.  The library collection is comprehensive and can help to support any of the courses offered at Kate Andrews.

The library is OPEN!

  • Friday                               8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

It is open during the lunch break.

The "Story" on Mrs. Wittebolle

I started at Kate Andrews in September of 2000 and have loved every second of my time here.  I find the students and staff friendly, welcoming and hilarious.  Where else can you go to work and have every day filled with challenges and opportunities to learn something new.

One of my favorite jobs is connecting our YA's with the "just right" book.  It can be a marvelous challenge to find that one book that speaks to a student.  To find something that connects with them in that moment, something that they are unable to put down and something that they can't wait to talk about.  I wait expectantly for them to return the book so I can ask them what they thought!  I want to know what their favorite part was and whether they'd recommend it to a friend.

I am also the tech person in our school.  What does that mean?  It means that I get to reset forgotten passwords, problem solve basic computers issues and pass on the big problems to Mr. Sorensen, one of the Palliser Tech team gurus!

But at the end of the day I like what Rudyard Kipling said about himself and I can completely relate to him when he said “I am, by calling, a dealer in words; and words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.”
